The next Wyoming All-State Marching Band will be assembled beginning in June of 2014! The Wyoming All-State Marching Band has a unique history in the state of Wyoming. The band has been assembled 11 times including:

  • 1991 Tournament of Roses Parade
  • 1994 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
  • 1998 St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Dublin, Ireland)
  • 2000 Tournament of Roses Parade
  • 2001 United States Presidential Inaugural Parade
  • 2004 Tournament of Roses Parade
  • 2005 United States Presidential Inaugural Parade
  • 2006 Edinburgh Scotland – Cavalcade of Bands Parade
  • 2008! Waikiki Holiday Parade
  • 2011 Tournament of Roses Parade
  • 2012 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
  • 2015 ?

We hope that our 12th time as a band will be the Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 2015. The Wyoming High School All State Marching Band has re-applied for the 2015 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. This would be the fifth Rose Parade for the band. We have sent our portfolio and application and have visited with several friends on the Tournament committees. We feel very confident about our chances of returning to Pasadena. The trip will be planned around this parade. An alternative trip is also being planned in case we are not selected to participate in the Tournament of Roses Parade.

Participation in this band provides students across the state the opportunity to meet new people and to have an outstanding marching band experience. The band has typically been around 250-300 students and has been as large as 540. We hope to be putting together a band of similar size.

The application process will be done through the band web site at http://www.wyoband.com. Students applying for the band must have the necessary forms and the down payment submitted by October 1, 2013. The application window is set from May 1, 2013 to October 1, 2013. Students will be notified by October 25, 2013 of their status. Students not selected to be a part of the band will have their deposit returned in full.

A tentative 2014 summer schedule will be as follows:

  • June 28, 2014 Flags & Percussion report to Northwest College in Powell, WY
  • June 29, 2014 Full Band Reports at 2:00 PM at NW College in Powell

  • Other July Parades that the band will participate in are the Frontier Days Parade in Cheyenne, Red Desert Parade in Rock Springs and either the Casper Parade or the Sheridan Parade. These dates will be on the schedule in the fall of 2013.

Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from summer activities.

The trip to California will take place DECEMBER 27, 2014 – JANUARY 3, 2015.
